"The man in the moon"

I bought a new lens for my camera and took a shot of the moon. I think it looks pretty cool.
Reminds me of my sister and I used to look at the moon when we were little kids and see faces of the man in the moon.
RIP my darling sis, I'm sure you're up there with the 'man on the moon' having a good 'ol giggle. xxx

A quick story of our 4 fur-babies

Here is a short time-line of Lady so far.

She entered into this world, in December, 2011. She was born under a house of my son's girlfriend's sister and lovingly given to my son who then announced it's arrival the day before she arrived at our house at 5 weeks old on 12 February, 2012. Here are the photos of her first day at our home....

Our beautiful Abbi-girl Siamese cat was not impressed by this new-comer at first.

But that didn't last long as my son took her to live with him to Nanny & Pas. Oh boy did I cry!

Lady stayed with our daughter in a granny flat downs stairs with Sebastian ...

Sebastian and Lady became very good friends and played every day. Little Lady stayed with my daughter and Sebastian for a couple of weeks until Nanny and Pa said they couldn't have another cat - Sebastian was enough.

After a very tearful farewell, our daughter arranged for Lady came back to us. Time to get to know Abbi-cat a little more.

Old Abbi-cat had her days with this little bouncy bundle. They often played and chased each other around and took turns eating and lying side by side in front of the fire. But Abbi is old... she just could not keep up.

During this time, my daughter moved from Nanny & Pa's place to a place of her own. Rental places often do not accommodate someone's beloved fur-kids so Sebastian came here for little while...

Lady and Sebastian snuggling

.. until she convinced the owner's son, who she was sharing the house with, to have her baby back with her. Once again, the time came where I had to say goodbye. This was getting exhausting.

Abbi-cat, though she enjoyed playing with the little Lady, she got tired and wanted to sleep a little bit more than this bouncy new baby. After-all, Abbi is 13 years old. So we decided to adopt another fur baby to keep Lady company. Along came Smokie, a poor little street kitten who had been dumped and found by a Facebook friend who breeds Siamese cats.

Smokie's first day

Smokie cuddling his little Ram toy ... sooo cute!
Lady was curious as to who this new-comer was... a few growls and hisses arose initially but they soon got to know that they were all loved and there was plenty of love to go around .... and food.

Smokie adapted and enjoyed the space. We let our kids out on the front balcony each day and they have all of the two storey house to play in. We do not let them roam outside for 2 reasons.  Firstly, we live on a busy road and secondly I want to preserve lizards and wildlife in their environment as well.

Happily Lady and Smokie became close friends. Just as I had hoped.

Unfortunately after about a year of Sebastian roaming the city streets and getting roughed up by the feral population, our daughter rang with news. The owner's son said the cat had to go.... so once again, Sebastian came here. And here he is to this day. Until our daughter can find accommodation that allows her to have her baby, Sebastian will holiday with us.

It's not so devastating though. They are all reunited again!

They get on well; very rarely do we hear them fight. Abbi-girl is our drama queen who growls; but that could also be due to the arthritis that she suffers from.

So here we have it. All four fur kids living harmoniously indoors. They have each other and are very close friends and we have the honour to take care of them and nurture them in abundance.

Here is our young 1 1/2 yr old Lady-beetle girl ... beautiful as ever.

Hurry up Harry!

Harry-Boy!

Harry-Boy is the ultimate friend. He loves you no matter what. A bit like my hubby... he never says anything though; just kisses you with kindness and is always happy to see you.

He has no teeth, he's affectionate and hates fireworks. He has a strong instinctive to herd, bond and watch. He's very attentive and he is passionate about gathering his toys in the yard and going for swims down the lake. He has his own special spot where he swims. He often runs there ahead of us to  be the first in the water and swim out .... just swim ... and swim ... and swim... and swim (here is a photo taken by hubby).

Every spring we have him power washed by a wonderful chic, I can't remember her name....hmm...anyway I call her the dog cleaner .... he gets the full on treatment...hydro bath, shave, nails ....

He then grows the hair back ....... and enjoys his days in the sun (when we have it of course)

He runs and nudges his toys at your feet  waiting and expecting you to pick it up for you to throw it for him again, and again, and again.... he never tires of it... and again, and again....

When you're not around to play, he throws his toys in the air and catches them. He then takes his beloved toy up on the back balcony and nudges it off the edge with his nose, then chases it down the stairs.... and then to do it all over again...and again...and again...

He's a beautiful dog. Beautiful natured, and gentle.

It is hard to believe that someone could hurt a gorgeous animal. Support organisations that help our fur-friends....
